Steve Jobs: iLeft a mark in the world.
Written by Tay Shi Jie

At the age of 56, Apple Inc co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs have passed away from a long and tough battle of pancreatic cancer. Not only has he built up the company with his fellow other co-founders to where it is now, he has also been a major influence to what the technology industry is now.

Hands up those who have ever had an iPod. Needless to say, this gadget has changed the relationship between us and how we listen to our music. Having first launched in November 2001, this portable music player is defined as unique from other portable music players with its distinctive design , such as the click wheel, and easy-to-use functions. Ever since it’s very first product back almost 10 years ago, Apple Inc has released a versatile collection of iPods in all sizes and serve different functions, from the multifunctional touch screen iPod touch to the cheap, chic and compact iPod shuffle!

DID YOU KNOW THAT :

• The first iPod only had a 5 gigabyte (GB) memory and cost $400!
• Unlike the others, the iPod Shuffle uses flash memory instead of hard drive!
• The world’s most expensive iPod is worth USD $330,000!

iPhone:

I mean, who doesn’t have an iPhone these days? Making its very first appearance back in 2007 by being unveiled by Steve Jobs the man himself, this top of the notch smart phone has evolved to become one of the greatest inventions made in this technological age. With its ability to download all kinds of apps available (Including games, travel guides and even the weather report) and now even with voice recognition, it’s a phone that allows you to do almost anything and everything!

DID YOU KNOW THAT :

• Apple spent 150 million dollars to develop the iPhone!
• The iPhone’s keyboard can contain 21 languages!
• There have been more than 7 billion downloads on the App Store so far!

iPad:

Once the trend of all “time of the month” jokes, it’s now one of the top ranking for gadget hipness. When Apple released the very first version in April 2010, it sold 14.8 million worldwide by the end of the year and represented 75% of tablet PC sales at the end of 2010. How cool is that?! Now, with the new launch of its second latest version, the iPad 2, it gets thinner, lighter and even better with front and back cameras and a faster processor!

DID YOU KNOW THAT :

• Steve Jobs initially started working on the tablet idea before the iPhone!
• The average iPad user is a male aged between 35-44 years old!
• You can get locked up for up to 5 years for jailbreaking an iPad?!

  1. i still can remember my first ipod nano when i was 13. It was so sleek and uniquely light weighted, that it was such a privelege to actually own one after penny pinching every single dollar for months. To finally have your hands on that piece of technology, it was really a great feeling. Seven years later, i've yet to see a competitor that can come close to challenging even its initial ipod nano.
